Bhubaneswar, Mar 10:

The process for e-evaluation of annual Plus Two Science papers began in Odisha this afternoon with the scanning of the papers.

CHSE LOGOThe scanning of the five Science papers—Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Zoology— began at the Nabakrushna Choudhury Centre for Development Studies premises near the head office of the Council for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) here.

Talking to the media, CHSE chairman Prof Basudev Chhatoi said the council has decided to complete the scanning of the Science answer sheets within March 25. About four lakh answer sheets of 94,952 students would be scanned during the period, he added.

Stating that the state government has roped in TCS for scanning, uploading and downloading of answer sheets, he said at present there are 47 scanners at the scanning centre. The number of scanners would be increased to 100 subsequently, he added.

“After the scanned copies are uploaded in the main server, they would be sent to the servers at 33 evaluation centres online where the chief examiners would download the papers and distribute them among the examiners after sorting them out,” Chhatoi said.

He said the Council has engaged 4000 examiners for evaluation this year and has made arrangements for training those having no experience in e-evaluation on the first two days.

“We are confident that the e-evaluation this year would be error-free as the calculation of marks would be done by the computers,” the CHSE head said.
