Puri-bound Dhauli Express derails

Bhubaneswar: A bogie of Howrah-Puri Dhauli Express derailed between Bhogpur and Panskura in West Bengal this morning. However, no casualties have been reported in the incident.

“The derailment took place around 7.08 am. All passengers of the derailed bogie are safe. The train will resume its journey after detachment of the particular bogie,” an official of the East Coast Railway said.

Sanjoy Ghosh, Chief Public Relation Officer of South Eastern Railway said a four member inquiry committee has been formed to probe the incident.

Helpline number at Khurda control– 0674-2490670– has been issued by the Railways.

Almost all passengers have been adjusted in Falaknuma Express coming from Howrah side going towards Secunderabad. It will stop at all stations where Dhauli Express is scheduled to stop, official sources said.
