Rice & salt served to students at residential school in Odisha’s Malkangiri

Malkangiri: In an incident contradicting the tall claims of the Odisha government regarding welfare measures for school students, inmates of a residential school in Malkangiri district were reportedly served rice and salt for dinner.

The unfortunate incident took place last night at Sorishamal residential school, located only 10 km away from Malkangiri district headquarters.

According to reports, out of 280 students of the school, some were served rice along with salt instead of dal.

The local sarpanch and parents reported the matter to district administration following which District Education Officer and other officials reached the spot.

Later, curry was cooked and served to the inmates in the presence of the officials, reports said.
