Rising air pollution: Schools in Delhi shut for a week

Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Considering the rise in air pollution, the Delhi government today decided to shut schools for a week and not to allow stop construction activities.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal told media persons from Monday onwards schools will be physically suspended for a week. However, schools will continue with their classes on online mode. The decision has been taken so that children do not get exposed to the polluted air, Kejriwal added.

The Chief Minister further said construction activities will not to be allowed between November 14 and 17.

In another major decision, staff of government offices have been asked to work from home for a week.

Regarding private offices, the Delhi Chief Minister said they will be issued an advisory to allow their employees to go for the work-from-home option as much as possible.
