Rourkela: 60-year-old man held for raping 12-year-old daughter

Rourkela: The Udit Nagar police today arrested a 60-year-old man for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in Odisha’s Rourkela city.

The accused has been identified as Devanand Pathak (60) of Malgodam area. He was forwarded to court after apprehension.

According to police sources, the man had on June 19 taken the girl to his house on the pretext of giving her candies and raped her there.

Family members of the victim had lodged an FIR in this regard with the Udit Nagar police after the minor girl narrated the ordeal before them.

The accused had absconded after the incident to evade arrest. Eventually, police managed to apprehend him today.
