SEBI opens branch office in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, Nov 6:

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) opened a local branch office at the Idcol auditorium premises in the Odisha’s capital city on Wednesday.

Inaugurating the branch, additional chief secretary (Finance) Upendra Nath Behera said the branch office would take care of investors’ protection and education as well as all other functions delegated and ensure spread of financial literacy among the people.

“The opening of the SEBI branch in the state holds significance when the state is reeling under chit fund scams”, Behera added.

Among others, whole-time member of SEBI S Raman was present.
