Kolkata/Bhubaneswar: Popular singer KK, who died last night after performing at an event in Kolkata, bore injuries on his face and head, reports said.
An unnatural death case in this connection has been registered at the New Market police station in Kolkata.
The post-mortem of the body will be conducted at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata today to ascertain the cause of death.
KK was in Kolkata to perform at a function in Nazrul Manch organised by the Gurudas College. It has been learnt that KK felt sick while he was performing.
After returning to hotel, the singer complained of uneasiness following which he was rushed to a hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Police are examining the CCTV footage of the hotel and questioning the hotel staff and event organisers.
Born on August 23, 1968, KK recorded songs in multiple languages including Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu, among others.
