SPG reviews security for PM visit to Odisha’s Steel City

Ahead of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Odisha’s Steel City scheduled on April 1, the DIG, Special Protection Group (SPG), L Darji Lahatoo, arrived in the city here from New Delhi today and reviewed the security arrangements.

Narendra ModiLahatoo was accompanied by Sundargarh collector BS Punia, Rourkela Superintendent of Police Anirudh Singh and senior officials of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP).

The SPG DIG visited all places, including RSP, where the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit. Sources said a SPG team will arrive here tomorrow from New Delhi to monitor security arrangements for the Prime Minister.

“We accompanied the DIG who inspected the main route and other sites where the Prime Minister is scheduled to visit. We have made security arrangements as per his suggestion,” the SP informed.
