Student molested in moving bus in Odisha, elderly man arrested

Jagatsinghpur: An elderly man was arrested for allegedly molesting a nursing school girl in a moving bus in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district.

A case has been registered by Jagatsinghpur police against the accused on basis of the complaint lodged by the student.

The accused has been identified as the resident of Panapalli village under Kujang police limit.

According to reports, the accused, (above 45 years old) had been harassing the girl, a resident under Tirtol police limit, in a past few days while she was going to college, which is under Jagatsinghpur police station. He passed lewd remarks while the student was travelling to Jagatsinghpur in a bus yesterday morning. Even after the girl tried to stop him from eve teasing, he continued committing such offence in the bus.

The girl finally got down from the bus near Charchika Bazaar. He also landed in the same stoppage. Without having any option, she rushed to a betel shop to seek help where some locals overpowered the accused. They locked him in a house for few hours and informed police.

After getting information, Jagatsinghpur IIC Rajanikant Mishra reached the spot and arrested the person on basis of the allegation.
