Tehsildar arrested for taking bribe

The State Vigilance sleuths today caught the tehsildar of Udala block in Mayurbhanj district Santosh Mohanty red-handed while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from one Jogendra Kar of Udala Town for the release of his security deposit amounting to Rs 44,160, which was deposited for a sand mining lease.

In course of investigation, the anti-corruption wing laid a trap and caught Mohanty red-handed with the bribe money.

Mohanty was arrested later.
