Bhubaneswar, June 29:

Students, looking for career options, should look inward and discover what their aptitude is for, Prof (Dr) Amit Banerjee, Vice-Chancellor of the Odisha’s SOA University told students today.

SOAInaugurating a ‘Career Counselling’ program for students of the Plus Two science course organized by the Institution of Higher Secondary Education (IHSE) run by Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan, Prof Banerjee said students should always opt for a career as per their aptitude and should not be coerced into a course towards which they did not have any leaning.

“In two years time, you’ll know for sure which career you should opt for. But you should have a broad outlook so that you can wisely chose your profession,” he told the new entrants.

Prof Banerjee said the SOA University offered them most of the career choices while pointing out that it had under its jurisdiction institutions imparting education in engineering, medical sciences, dental sciences, nursing, management, hotel management, pharmaceutical sciences, biotechnology and agriculture.

Some of the institutions provided integrated five-year courses in certain disciplines as also dual degrees, he said.

The programme was presided over by Dr RN Panda, Principal of IHSE.
