Sambalpur: Authorities of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Burla here have closed the institute for four days due to rise in COVID-19 cases.
The university will remain closed from today (September 26) till Tuesday (September 29).
“The decision of closing the university was taken keeping in view the increasing number of COVID-19 cases. The university campus will be completely sanitised during this period”, informed Vice Chancellor.
Earlier on August 1, the campus was sealed and declared as a ‘No Entry Zone’ for seven days after a woman teacher of the educational institution tested positive for COVID-19.
It is pertinent to mention that, Sambalpur district has so far reported a total of 5516 COVID-19 positive cases, including 1,157 active cases and 22 deaths.
