Three killed, three injured as bus overturns in Odisha

Three persons were killed and as many were injured as a bus carrying members of an opera (jatra) party overturned near Taptapani cliff in Odisha’s Ganjam district.

According to reports, the bus carrying members of Shrikshetra Opera Party from Jagatsinghpur was returning from Ramagiri when the mishap took place. The bus was on its way to Jagatsinghpur when the driver reportedly lost control over the wheel and turned turtle killing two, injuring four.

The two of the deceased have been identified as Saila Sahoo and Kalia Behera, sources said.

Following the mishap, the vehicular traffic along the road was disrupted for a while.

Police reached the spot and began the rescue and relief measures.

The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital.
