Thunder squall, hail forecast in over 20 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned of thunder squall accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph likely to occur in over 20 districts of Odisha in the next 24 hours.

The districts likely to be affected are Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore,Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Baragarh, Sambalpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Nuapara, Khurda and Bolangir.

“Thunder squall accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50-60 kmph likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore,Bhadrak, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Jagatsingpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Puri, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Baragarh, Sambalpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Nuapara, Khurda and Bolangir in the next 24 hours,” warned a bulletin issued by the  IMD’s local centre here.
