Two friends among 4 killed in separate road mishaps in Odisha

Puri/Rayagada: Four persons, including two friends were killed in separate road mishaps in Puri and Rayagada districts.

Reportedly, two youth were killed after the motorcycle they were riding on met with an accident near Badhei Chhak on Konark-Kakatpur road in Puri district late last night. While one of them died the spot, another with critical injuries was rushed to Community Healthcare Centre (CHC) in Gop. However, he succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

The two, who happened to be friends, have been identified as Balaram Khatei of Asurakhala area under Kakatpur police limits and Dibya Ranjan Patnaik of Gumadera area in Belpahar of Jharsuguda district.

On receiving information, Konark police reached the spot and seized the motorcycle and bag from the spot. An inquiry has begun into the incident, said police.

In a separate incident, two people died after an unidentified vehicle hit their two-wheeler near Goudalelibadi village under Chandili police station in Rayagada district early this morning.
