Two killed in road mishap in Odisha

Baripada, Jun 14:

Two persons were killed when an SUV in which they were travelling turned turtle after losing balance on a bridge near Mahaldaposh under Jashipur police limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district today.

The deceased have been identified as Alok Das and Mantu Kuldip of Champabarda village.

The accident occurred in the wee hours today while the duo was returning to their home from Jashipur bazaar, reports said.

In another road mishap in the district, a truck driver was killed at Dari Chhak under Rorua police station limits yesterday evening when the lorry he was driving had a head on collision with a government bus.

The injured passengers of the bus were first taken to the government hospital at Karanjia and later shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack.

The passengers had to be extricated from the mangled bus with the help of police and fire brigade personnel.

The bus which had over 50 passengers was travelling to Kolkata from Keonjhar, reports said.
