Two more die of Japanese Encephalitis in Odisha’s Malkangiri, toll mounts to 80

Malkangiri, Oct 31:

Two more children succumbed to Japanese Encephalitis (JE) while undergoing treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital in Odisha’s Malkangiri today.

With this, the toll due to the vector-borne disease in the district has gone up to to 80 in 52 days.

The deceased girl and boy have been identified as Lata Bhandari (2) of Kalimela and Kuna Madkami of Pushpagua village.

Yesterday also two children had died of the killer disease. They were identified as two-year-old girl Sushila Padiami of Daniguda village under Malkangiri block and four-year-old Laxma Madkami of Gamphakonda village under Kalimela block.
