Undertrial prisoner dies while undergoing treatment in Odisha

Rourkela: An undertrial prisoner died while undergoing treatment at Rourkela Government Hospital in Odisha’s Sundargarh district today.

The prisoner Joseph Tirkey was lodged at Rourkela Special Jail in connection with a murder case.

He was rushed to the hospital after he fell ill at the jail. However, he succumbed during treatment.

Parbati, the wife of deceased, alleged that she was not informed about her husband’s ill health. Joseph has died after being administered wrong injection, she alleged.
