Union minister to visit NIT Rourkela in Odisha on Aug 30

Rourkela, Aug 28:

Vishnu Deo Sai, Union Minister of State for Steel, Mines and Labour and Employment will visit NIT Rourkela in Odishs on August 30 during his visit to the Steel City, sources in the NIT said today.

The minister will be in the NIT Campus to take a look at the development of the institute and is scheduled to inaugurate the Ceramics Department building in presence of GS Prasad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), informed R K Sinha, secretary, public relation, NIT in a press release.

He will also inaugurate the extension wing of Mining Engineering Department and will spend some time interacting with Prof. SK Sarangi, Director of the NIT Rourkela and some senior officials of the institute.

The minister will be apprised of new initiatives taken for steel technology development by the department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, said Sinha, adding, his visit to campus will inspire the faculty, students, staff of the institute and boost the ongoing industry-institute cooperation programme.
