Utkal University student tests COVID-19 positive; PG 1st semester exam postponed

Bhubaneswar: The most highly contagious Coronavirus spread its wings to the Utkal University in the second wave of the pandemic as a Post-graduate student in Sociology Department has tested positive for the virus.

Following fresh detection of the COVID case at the Utkal University, the authorities deferred the upcoming first semester examination of PG programme till further orders.

“In view of a COVID-19 positive case found in the department and as per discussion with the PG Council Chairman, the mid-term examination for 1st semester students stands postponed until further order,” a notice issued by the PG Department of Sociology, Utkal University, stated.
