Village in Odisha’s Ganjam sealed, declared as ‘COVID-19 Hotspot’

Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration today sealed Matia Sahi village under Baghalati panchayat and declared it as ‘COVID-19 Hotspot’.

As per an official order of the office of the sub-collector, the village has 130 migrants from ‘COVID-19 hotspots in Bhubaneswar’. Movement of people and vehicles in or out of Matia Sahi has been restricted until further orders.

IIC of Golanthara police station has been directed to create a temporary check post at the entry point of Matia Sahi. Similarly, Tehsildar, Kukudakhandi will ensure and co-ordinate the complete lockdown of Matia Sahi.

Block Development Officer, Kukudakhandi has been instructed to ensure home delivery of essential commodities to people of Matia Sahi during the period. Any person violating the lockdown shall be taken to a compulsory quarantine facility at NIST by the Executive Magistrate deployed.
