Wall collapse claims life of elderly man in Odisha’s Balasore

Balasore: A 60-year-old man died after a portion of wall collapsed and fell on him at Pakharabada village under Sadar block of Odisha’s Balasore district last night. The deceased has been identified as Gokuli Behera.

The mishap occurred when Behera was sleeping inside his house last night. A portion of the mud wall of the house, which had become weak after incessant rainfall, caved in on him.

Though his family members rushed to the spot and tried to rescue him, he was dead by that time. The kin of the deceased didn’t take the body to hospital due to deteriorated road condition caused by heavy downpour, reports said.
