Weather Update: Low pressure over Arabian Sea likely in next 5 days

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of onset of Monsoon, a low pressure is likely to form over the Arabian Sea adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean during next five days.

A cyclonic circulation extending upto 3.1 km above mean sea level lies over the Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining central parts of the South Arabian Sea. Under its influence, a low pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Arabian Sea around May 14, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted today.

The possible low pressure is likely to become more marked over the Southeast Arabian Sea during subsequent 48 hours.

Earlier, a Global Forecast model of the US had predicted a cyclonic storm in Andaman Sea towards May 10.
