Low Pressure Area likely to intensify into Depression over BoB around November 30

Bhubaneswar: Low Pressure Area formed over south Andaman Sea and adjoining Malacca Strait is likely to intensify into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal around November 30, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its evening bulletin, the IMD mentioned, “Low Pressure Area over South Andaman Sea and adjoining Malacca Strait moved westwards and lay over South Andaman Sea at 0830 hours IST of today, the 28th November. It is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal around 30th November 2023. Thereafter, it is likely to move northwestwards and intensify further into a Cyclonic Storm over Southwest and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal during subsequent 48 hours.”

Minimum temperatures observed appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were markedly above normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum (day) temperature of 32.0°C was recorded at Nayagarh and the lowest minimum (night) temperature of 13.9°C was recorded at Rourkela in the plains of Odisha.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Bolangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj districts and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
