The assurance of the company has come in response to a letter written by chief minister Naveen Patnaik to Wipro chairman Azim Premji seeking his intervention to expedite the project work.

In a letter to the chief minister, company’s IT business and executive director TK Kurien said, “While we did face initial setbacks, we are committed to developing and investing in the Bhubaneswar Development Centre in the Infocity SEZ.”

He informed that he has asked his team to give utmost priority to the project and complete the construction of the first G+10 block at the site to house new projects.

Wipro had signed a MoU with the state government in 2004 for setting up of a software development and BPO service centre in the state capital.
