Woman ‘accidentally’ kills hubby in Odisha’s Sambalpur, buries body

Sambalpur: In a shocking incident, a woman in Odisha’s Sambalpur district buried the body of her husband after she ‘accidentally’ killed him during a family feud.

According to reports, Sabita Pradhan of Hirloi village under Kisinda police limits in the district was beaten by her husband Gokula Pradhan, a driver by profession, on Wednesday night.

The woman picked a stick for self defence during which it hit Gokula’s ear leading to his death on the spot.

In a state of fear, Sabita buried the body inside a pit which was earlier dug for the purpose of house construction.

Failing to notice Gokula in the village, neighbours asked her about his whereabouts. Suspicion arose as she failed to give satisfactory answer to them.

On being informed, police reached the village last evening and questioned Sabita during which she confessed to her crime.

She was arrested today after being detained by police for further interrogation.

Gokula used to thrash Sabita regularly after coming to house in an inebriated state, reports said.
