Woman shot dead by husband in Odisha’s Jharsuguda

In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly shot dead by her husband over family dispute at Puruna Basti in Jharsuguda town, last night. The deceased was identified as Bindu Sahoo.

According to reports, Dilip Sahoo, the accused husband, and Bindu had an exchange of words over a family matter while having dinner. In a fit of rage, Dilip fired one round of bullet at his wife following which she died.

A police complaint was lodged against Dilip by a cousin brother of the deceased. Police have detained the accused and seized the gun. Two live bullets were also seized from the spot. Investigation is on to ascertain the reason for which Dilip fired at her.

Dilip had earlier gone to jail several times in various criminal cases, sources said.
