Youth molests four schoolgirls inside campus; attempts to kidnap one in Odisha

A youth was arrested after he allegedly attempted to molest a minor girl student, tried to kidnap her, while misbehaving with three others inside a school campus in Cuttack’s Balbhadrapur area in Odisha.

A case has been registered by the parents of the victims in Badambadi police station. According to the complaint, on Friday morning at about 10 am, four girls, students of Balbhadrapur Upper Primary School entered the school premises from the back gate.

Two of the girls are studying in class V, one in class IV and the youngest in class III. They are locals of Balbhadrapur under Badambadi police station.

The miscreant, identified as Chandan Maharana (30), a married man was lurking there. He grabbed the girls and pinned them to the wall. When the terrified girls begun crying, he tried to console them with chocolates.

He also allegedly tore the dress of the class four student and tried to kidnap her. Hearing their panic-stricken cries, a passerby, L Sinu with the help of local people rescued them. The crowd severely beat Maharana up. The police arrested the culprit and took him to the city hospital for treatment.
