11 places in Odisha record day temperature at 36 Degrees Celsius or above; Paralakhemundi hottest with 38

Bhubaneswar: Mercury is on the rise at some places in Odisha and at least eleven places of the State witnessed day temperature at 36 Degrees Celsius or above, today.

Paralakhemundi recorded the highest day (maximum) temperature at 38.0 Degrees Celsius, followed by Bolangir (36.9), Jharsuguda (36.8), Malkangiri (36.7), Titilagarh (36.5), Bhawanipatna (36.2), Sonepur (36.2), Rayagada (36.2), Talcher (36.0), Nayagarh (36.0) and Boudh (36.0).

“Maximum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha, marked rise at one or two places over the districts of North Interior Odisha, appreciable rise at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal and North Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were below normal at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, and normal elsewhere over the districts of Odisha,” an evening bulletin of IMD stated.

Temperature forecast: No major change is likely in the minimum (night) temperature at many places over the districts of Odisha during next four to five days, the IMD mentioned.
