12-hr Burla bandh tomorrow in Odisha over VIMSAR director’s res attack

Burla: The residents of Burla called for a 12-hour dawn-to-dusk bandh for tomorrow to press for immediate arrest of post-graduate students involved in attack on residence of Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) director Ashwini Pujari.

The bandh will be observed by the residents, lawyers’ association and other civil society groups in protest of the attack.

Meanwhile, the CCTV footage was found deleted.

The hard disk of the CCTV will be sent to Chandigarh to retrieve the footage for probing the matter, said Sambalpur SDPO.

On the other hand, the PG students have decided to launch cease-work agitation against Pujari for indefinite period from today.

The situation at VIMSAR campus intensified after the residence inside campus was attacked by PG students on Friday night. The miscreants had allegedly pelted stones on the house of Pujari, who had cracked a whip on the doctors allegedly treating patients at several private clinics during their duty hours.
