This main market in Odisha capital reopens today

Bhubaneswar: After a closure for 14 days, the Unit-4 market and markets operating in the adjacent area will reopen today, informed Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

During  the 14 days,  multiple rounds of mass testing was carried out exclusively for the vendors of Unit-4 market on different dates.  The Unit 4 market and its adjacent area have been sanitized several times during the period, said a BMC official.

“We will adhere to all  guidelines issued  by the Government. Mask-wearing will be made mandatory and social distancing will be strictly followed,” said a trader of Unit-4 market.

It is pertinent to mention that  Unit 4 market is a hub of all essential commodities and food and a wholesale market for grocery items in the state capital. On July 16, the market was closed for 14 days after detection of several COVID-19 positive cases and to contain further spread of virus.
