In 2011, Rajiv started running from Aska to Gopalpur and it took him 8 hours to reach the destination. However, he wanted to finish it in 6 hours for which he practiced hard for five years. During the period, he was encouraged by the director of Judo association Raghav Nahak and others to achieve it.

Throughout his running, Rajiv was yesterday encouraged by many eminent persons like Education Minister Dr Pradeep Kumar Panigrahi, Principal of Aska science college, in-charge of Hinjili and Aska police stations, the members of Aska Bar association, socialite Bansidhar Nahak and Satya Narayan Swain.

“We can find many sports talent in rural areas but they never get proper chance. I was inspired by Budhia Singh who was from a slum area of Bhubaneswar. Right now my main motive is to make this feat a record” said Rajiv.
