Cash worth lakhs of rupees looted from ATM in Balasore

Balasore: In yet another ATM loot incident, miscreants looted lakhs of money from a cash vending machine at Santaragadia under Nilgiri police limits in Balasore district last night.

However, the exact amount of money stolen from the kiosk is yet to be ascertained.

Sources said unidentified miscreants entered the ATM counter, broke open the machine with a gas-cutter and looted all money from it late last night. Finding the machine broken today morning, locals called up police, who reached the spot and began an investigation.

Authorities of the bank concerned said the miscreants might have stolen cash over Rs 10 lakh as Rs 20 lakh was deposited in the machine yesterday.

Meanwhile, locals have expressed resentment over the frequent ATM loots in the district. Sources said this is the third ATM loot in the district. Two ATMs in Sheragada and Sajanagada areas of the district were looted in the last one month.
