According to reports, Santosh Kumar Sahoo of Rasolo and his wife tried to burn themselves by pouring kerosene. However, they were stopped by some media persons who were present there.

Sahoo said that he had accomplished a work of Rs 3 crore for a company. However, the firm didn’t pay him a pending amount of Rs 34 lakh, he alleged.

Though he moved the Orissa High Court in the matter, the court asked for collection of the pending amount from the company under the mediation of district administration.

Sahoo decided to take the extreme step as the district collector insulted him in the matter, he said. Media reporters rescued the couple and handed them over to Town police.
