Couple killed in sword attack in Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Unidentified miscreants allegedly hacked a couple to death with sword at Rangamatia village under Nayakot police limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district last night.

The deceased were identified as Bhamia Pradhan (60) and and his wife Gangi Pradhan (55).

According to reports, over five persons armed with sword and bow & arrow attacked the duo and their son and daughter last night.

While the husband and wife died in the attack, their son Mangal Singh Pradhan (35) and daughter Sumitra Pradhan (25) were grievously injured as they were shot with arrow sustaining injuries on chest and head, respectively.

They have been admitted to Keonjhar district headquarters hospital in a critical condition.

The reason behind the brutal attack is yet to be ascertained.
