COVID-19: Sanitation workers garlanded in Odisha as mark of gratitude for service amid lockdown

Rourkela: A little appreciation is all that a human needs to feel happy. Even as the nation is battling against the COVID-19 pandemic, people of Telgupada area of Rourkela in Sundargarh district did not forget to thank real-life warriors and make them smile.

Appreciating the self-less services of these real-life warriors, locals of Telgupada area today welcomed the sanitation workers of their area amid claps and offered them flower garlands. Also the locals offered the sanitation workers some incentives.

A local said, “In the current scenario when everyone stays indoor, following the state government’s order to help contain the novel coronavirus infection, sanitation workers step out daily risking their lives. Putting on masks and gloves, they ensure every locality is properly cleaned and sanitized.”

The sanitation workers were overwhelmed after receiving this kind gesture from the residents of Telgupada.
