Crorepati Engineer in Odisha Vigilance net; Multiple plots, flats unearthed

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials today raided multiple places in connection with allegation against Santosh Kumar Das, Assistant Engineer, Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA), Baripada regarding possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The searches were conducted by 10 DSPs, 4 Inspectors and 30 other staff at 11 locations in Bhubaneswar, Balasore and Mayurbhanj.

Movable and immovable properties worth crores belonging to Das have been traced by the officers of the anti-corruption agency.

The following assets linked to Das have been unearthed so far.

1. Cash Rs 13.6 lakh.

2. One 4 storeyed building at Badagada, Bhubaneswar worth Rs 56.62 lakh.

3. One 4 storeyed building at Balasore.

4. One Flat at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.

5. One semi finished building at Kalinga Vihar, Bhubaneswar.

6. Three plots at Balasore.

7. One four wheeler and 3 two wheelers.

Till last reports came in, the raids were underway while the total value of his movable and immovable properties was yet to be calculated.
