Denizens plant saplings on broken road to register protest in Odisha

In an innovative mode of protest, denizens in Bhimatangi area of Bhubaneswar planted paddy saplings on road demanding immediate repair.captureThis stretch of road near Saraswati Sishu Mandir in lane no 11 of BMC ward number 61 has been in bad shape with accumulation of garbage, leading to stinking smell and site for mosquito breeding.

Irked by the inconvenience caused to the passersby, members of Ekamra Jan Jagaran Manch tomorrow took up brooms and cleaned the area of the garbage.

Later they planted paddy saplings to draw the attention of the authorities towards the muddy state of roads. Several social workers too joined in the protest including Corporator Subasini Prusty, Socialite Riturani Senapati, Pradip Prusty, Debashish Bramha, Prashant Das, Brajraj Panda, Swapnarani Samal, Sanjulata Patnaik, Rosina Mishra, Sandhyarani Bisoyi, Ranjita Das, Lingaraj Prusty, Shantilata Mahapatra and Sangram Sahu led by Manch president Bhishma Narayan Nayak.
