Dense fog leads to massive collision in Odisha’s Kendrapara; 3 dead

Kendrapara: Three persons were killed and five others were injured in SUV-truck head-on collision on Cuttack-Chandbali road due to dense fog here this morning.

The deceased persons were identified as Bhagabati Rout (40), Bibhu Rout (20) and Subrat Behera (22). All were from Rajnagar area.

The injured persons were admitted to the Kendrapara District Headquarters Hospital for treatment.

According to reports, an SUV (Bolero with the number OD 29 D 5388) carrying few passengers from Cuttack towards Rajnagar collided head-on with a Hyva coming from opposite direction at around 6.00 am near Kakatia Chhak under Chandol police limits.

Sources said that the accident took place due to dense fog that had covered the entire area in the morning.

While three persons died on the spot, five sustained critical injuries.

After receiving information, police along with fire services personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the victims from the vehicle. The injured persons were taken to the DHH immediately.
