Dense fog, rain very likely to occur in Odisha districts on February 15; dry weather thereafter

Bhubaneswar: With no significant synoptic system lying over the region, dense fog and rain are very likely to occur at one or two places over at least nine districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, India Meteorological Department (IMD) regional centre in Bhubaneswar forecasted today.

In its mid-day bulletin, the IMD said, “Minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and no large change at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha. They were appreciably below normal at one or two places, below normal at one or two places, appreciably above normal at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha, above normal at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Interior Odisha and normal at elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.”

Temperature forecast: No major change in minimum (night) temperature during next 4-5 days at many places over the districts of Odisha.

The highest maximum temperature of 34.6°C was recorded at Bhawanipatna and the lowest minimum temperature of 14.5°C was recorded at Phulbani in the plains of Odisha.

Light rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be Updated):

Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Nayagarh.

For Thursday (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 15.02.2024 to 0830 hrs IST of 16.02.2024)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Odisha, Nuapada, Bolangir, Subarnapur, Boudh and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
