Commissionerate Police had collected samples from the family members of the deceased duo to ascertain the identity who were allegedly murdered by notorious gangster siblings Sushant and Sushil Dhalsamanta in a farm house in Odisha’s Athagarh area and later burnt and dumped the body in Jharkhand in 2013.

On November 12, 2013, the two were allegedly kidnapped to the farmhouse where they were bludgeoned to death. After killing the duo, Dhalsamanta brothers moved their bodies to West Singhbhum district in Jharkhand in a bid to destroy evidence. The bodies were burnt and buried near a village under Badajamda outpost under Gua police station limits.

The DNA test was conducted outside the state, police sources added.
