Girl allegedly gang-raped as family misses village meet in Odisha

Odisha police have registered a case of an alleged gang rape of a girl by around ten village youths, after her brother did not attend the village meet under the Patakura police station limits in Kendrapada district of Odisha.

The victim’s brother has reported the incident which happened on Saturday night to the police station .The police have registered a case and started an investigation.

On Saturday night in Ramchandrapur village a meeting  was held for discussion of a village festival, all families had participated except the victim’s family.

At 10 pm, around ten village youtha came to their house, when the sister and brother were alone at home and started a fight with the brother.

When the girl intervened, the miscreants beat her up and then allegedly raped her.

The victim has been admitted to Kendrapada district hospital. She will be taken for a medical check up , police station in charge Anup Nag has said.
