No one has the right to give opinion on Preity’s case: Rani

Mumbai, June 24 :

Actress Rani Mukerji, who is a very good friend of fellow star Preity Zinta, Tuesday chose not to comment on the latter’s ongoing case with Ness Wadia, and said she doesn’t think any person has the right to speak or give an opinion on it.

“The only thing I would like to say is that her case is under investigation. This is not the right platform… it’s a personal thing. I think when I do get a chance outside this place, I will be able to talk further on that and I don’t like to comment on somebody’s else life. I don’t think it’s right to comment and I don’t think any person has the right to speak up or give an opinion,” Rani said.

“She (Preity) is a great person and a colleague of mine. We were fortunate to have worked in four films together.

“She used to tell me that she and I would marry in the same mandap, so that our weddings would be as successful as our films. But I beat her to that. I am waiting for Preity to get married so that would be a wonderful news to hear from her,” Rani said.

Preity Zinta and Rani Mukerji worked together in films like “Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega” and “Chori Chori Chupke Chupke”, among others.

Preity has filed a complaint against ex-boyfriend Ness Wadia for allegedly using foul language, pulling her hand and abusing her during an Indian Premier League cricket match at the Wankhede stadium.

Will work till I literally take my boots off

Actress Rani Mukerji Tuesday said she hopes to work till she literally take her boots off.

“I hope to work till I literally take my boots off. You can’t take artist out of me ever. Even though I play a wife today, and in future a mother, but the most significant role is as an actor I am known for… that I will continue to play and that’s never going to change,” Rani told reporters during the trailer launch of “Mardaani”.

The actress, who has worked in many women-centric films, says she hopes many more good scripts will come her way.

“We actors are like beggars. We never choose, we are chosen by directors, producers. If a powerful script comes my way, I will take it up. We sit there and wait to be chosen… hopefully, there will be better characters written and we will get better roles,” she said.

While fellow actress Vidya Balan feels women don’t have much to play in films with the Khans, Rani said she loves all the Khans.

“I love all the Khans. I have some personal love for them. Since my first films ‘Ghulam’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, I have shared a special relationship with the Khans and my roles have been very special with them. So I should not be complaining, I love them and they are amazing,” Rani said.
