Maoists warn people to boycott panchayat polls in Odisha’s Koraput

The CPI (Maoist) has again put up posters at various places in Koraput district of Odisha threatening people to boycott the upcoming panchayat polls in the state.

Some Maoist posters were found at Kuja Amba Chhak near Machakunda-Lamtaput road and Anakadeli panchayat office in which the red rebels have asked villagers not to cast their votes in the ensuing panchayat polls.

The extremists have warned in the posters that thumbs of those casting their votes would be chopped off.

The ultras had earlier put up similar posters at Balipata and Tentulipadar under Narayanpatna block in the district threatening people to abstain from the polls.
