Minor girl raped in Odisha’s Kandhamal; accused detained

Kandhamal: A minor girl was allegedly raped by a youth from her neighbourhood at Tumudibandh in Kandhamal district.

The accused has been detained by police for interrogation in the case.

The incident took place late on Thursday night when the minor girl was alone at her home.

According to reports, the youth staying at victim’s neighbourhood broke into the house in absence of her family members and allegedly outraged her modesty.

After committing the crime, he left threatening the girl to kill her if she dares to disclose the incident to anyone.

The victim later told her family members about rape by the youth after they returned to house.

A complaint was lodged by the family at the police station following which the cops reached the spot and detained the accused from the victim’s neighbourhood.
