NIC to roll out mobile governance system in state soon

OST Bureau
Bhubaneswar, Oct 7:

The National Informatics Centre (NIC) is planning to launch a village level mobile governance system in Odisha very soon. The new system will be useful in speedy governance and delivery of services.

Chief Secretary J K Mohapatra suggested to CSR Prabhu, acting DG of NIC, development of a system based on mobile technology for speedy delivery of services to the people on the occasion of inauguration of GPF automation system on Saturday last.

During his discussions with Prabhu, Mohapatra emphasized the use of mobile technology since mobile use is getting rapidly popular in many remote parts of the state. He said a separate technology can be devised to communicate with people over mobiles about their entitlements, developmental interventions of the government and to receive their feedback.

Responding to Mohapatra’s suggestion Prabhu said NIC will soon come out with a separate technology to roll out a village level mobile governance in Odisha.
