Odisha IAS officer seeks police protection after attack

Bhubaneswar: An Odisha cadre IAS officer has sought police protection after allegedly being attacked by miscreants in the capital city yesterday.

Batakrushna Dehury, Additional Secretary of Steel & Mines Department, was reportedly attacked by two bike-borne miscreants when the bureaucrat was returning home in the evening.

The official has sustained injuries on his leg. Though the reason behind the attack is yet to be ascertained, the IAS officer alleged that it was orchestrated. Police have started investigation into the incident.
