Odisha: Mortal remains of Manmohan Mahapatra consigned to flames

Puri: Mortal remains of eminent filmmaker Manmohan Mahapatra were consigned to flames with state honour at Puri Swargadwara today.

The last rites of Manmohan were performed after a guard of honour was given by the Odisha Police this morning. Apart from relatives of Manmohan, noted personalities from Ollywood were present at the crematorium to pay their last respects to him.

Manmohan passed away at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar on Monday. He was 69.

He won eight consecutive national film awards for his films. Some of his critically acclaimed films are Nishita Swapna, Majhi Pahacha, Tired Afternoon, Neeraba Jhada, Seeta Raati and Bhinna Samaya.
