Bhubaneswar: The first COVID-19 patient in Odisha has recovered and tested negative for the deadly virus, informed Health & Family Welfare Department today.
The 33-year-old youth from Bhubaneswar had a history of travelling to worst-hit country Italy. He had tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) after he reached home state on March 12. He was undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar.
With his recovery, the active cases of COVID-19 in Odisha now stand at three.
Taking to microblogging site Twitter, the Health & Family Welfare Department wrote:
The first COVID-19 positive case, belonging to Bhubaneswar who is being treated at Capital hospital has recovered and tested negative for COVID-19. He is being discharged. Active COVID-19 cases in Odisha now stand at 3. Congratulations to the medical team at Capital Hospital.

Earlier, the second person, who had tested positive for COVID-19, has been discharged from AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, after his recovery from the disease. He had traveled to the UK, where the virus has claimed over 2000 lives so far.
