Phulbani shivers at 6.6 degrees as cold wave grips Odisha

Phulbani recorded the lowest temperature in Odisha at 6.6 degrees today as cold wave gripped most parts of the state.

Apart from Phulbani, temperatures dipped to below 10 degrees in Keonjhar (8.4), Sundargarh (9.4), Hirakud (9), Bhawanipatna (7.7) and Daringbadi (9.9).

Places where the temperature remained between 10 and 13 degrees are Angul (11), Baripada (10.5), Jharsuguda (10.1), Sambalpur (11.1), Talcher (13.3), Bolangir (12), Koraput (10), Titlagarh (12), Malkangiri (12.4), Sonepur (12) and Dhenkanal (10.8), a Met office release said here this evening.

The Met office also predicted that rain or thundershower would occur at one or two places over north Odisha in the next two days after which there would be a further dip in temperature in the state in the three days after January 10.
